OK Folks! Here it is! The first and hopefully not the last El Campanil B-Movie Double Feature Extravaganza!! This event will be on May 8th, starting at 7PM and lasting until a little after 11 if you stay for both films.
The first movie will be the ORIGINAL CUT of GODZILLA (1954), in Japanese with English subtitles! Most people are not familiar with this version, and it can be a little surprising that it's an anti-war film. Of course it still has the little model cars and rubber suits, but it's not quite the super camp that's synonymous with "Godzilla". Fear not, after our first feature comes all the goofiness you can handle in KING KONG VS. GODZILLA. Lovingly dubbed in broken English, these actors will mispronounce every major Japanese city for your enjoyment. But it doesn't stop there, how about different monster costumes for close-ups or fighting scenes that look nothing alike! A good time to be had for sure.
This particular event happens to be a fundraiser for the Antioch-Chichibu Sister City Program. We're not charging an admission this time around, but we would appreciate that you donate something at the door. This is to help pay for expenses for students who will stay in our sister city of Chichibu, Japan for two weeks.
